Sam Smith has been a bit quiet of late; and if you were assuming he’d been beavering away in the studio working on album two, well, you’d be absolutely right.
The singer-songwriter has been pictured in a recording studio with Timbaland by the man himself, posting a snap of the pair on his Instagram page.
“It was a pleasure working with this man,” he said, adding “#puretalent, #making memories” and a load of fire emojis.
Could Sam’s new music have an R&B flavour to it? Timbaland’s recent credits include the last Justin Timberlake album (the one with Mirrors on it), Michael Jackson’s posthumous Xscape album, and he had a hand in a number of songs on Beyonce’s self-titled record.
The hitmaker is also behind big tracks for Rihanna, Kanye, Aaliyah, Brandy and Jay Z.
Sam’s debut album, In The Lonely, was a huge success across the globe, reaching the Top 10 just about everywhere. The collection spent eight non-consecutive weeks at Number 1 on the Official UK Albums Chart and has sold over one million copies.
